     Void, she thought, those poor saps in the stands are too close.  They must really want to be in the action.  Oh well, it’s their funeral.

     Jessica saw Vervor and Prath together in the crude bleachers.  They weren’t sitting ring-side, thankfully, and Jessica judged they should be safe if any of the action made its way into the stands.  Vervor’s claws were full of snacks from a nearby booth.  He seemed more preoccupied with his brightly-colored junk food and various meats-on-a-stick than the upcoming fight.  Jessica smiled, and focused on the task at hand.

     Revving both of her mechanical weapons, she made a display of weaving the mech’s chain weapon and rotary saw.

     The starting horn sounded, accompanied by a flood of lights, and the three armors moved towards each other in a flurry of blades.
